Decathletes and heptathletes are the most demanding athletes in the field events ecosystem. They train across 10 events (men) or 7 events (women), spanning throws, jumps, sprints, and middle distance. Their team apparel needs to work across all those demands. Here is the multi-event apparel guide.
A decathlete trains shot put, discus, javelin, high jump, long jump, pole vault, 100m, 400m, 110m hurdles, and 1500m. A heptathlete trains shot put, javelin, high jump, long jump, 100m hurdles, 200m, and 800m. The apparel needs to work for throws training, jumps approach work, sprint workouts, and distance training in the same week.
The fix is a versatile apparel set: a performance tank for the explosive events, a long sleeve for cool morning sprints, a hoodie for warm-ups and cool-downs, joggers for the 800m or 1500m work. The shop carries each as a SKU on the same multi-event team shop.
Decathlon and heptathlon meets run 2 days. Day 1 covers the first 5 events for dec or 4 events for hep. Day 2 covers the remaining 5 or 3 events. Athletes wear the same team uniform on both days but typically rotate apparel pieces.
The standard two-day apparel set:
Most high school programs have 0 to 2 decathletes or heptathletes at a given time. College programs typically have 2 to 6 multi-event athletes. The cohort size fits the no-minimum order model perfectly.
Some programs run multi-event apparel as a sub-line within the broader field events team shop. Others run a dedicated multi-event team shop for college programs with a recognized multi-event squad.
Versatile apparel for decathlon and heptathlon training and competition. No minimum.
Start FreeTypically 2 to 6 athletes per program. Some programs do not have a dedicated multi-event squad and instead pull athletes from other event groups for combined competitions.
A 4 to 6 piece set covering warm-up, competition, and cool-down across both days. Most decathletes order multiple of each piece for the multi-day event.
