Construction Office Shirts: What Managers, PMs, and Superintendents Wear

A construction PM lives in three rooms in one day: the site trailer at 7, the owner meeting at 11, the lender walkthrough at 3. The field tee is wrong for two of those rooms and a suit is wrong for all three. The management wardrobe is its own small program: collared and clean enough for the boardroom, branded and rugged enough that the crew does not read it as costume. Here is the three-piece formula that covers construction managers, superintendents, and estimators.

The Three-Piece Management Wardrobe

PieceRoom it winsVIP base
Embroidered performance polo (Sport-Tek)Owner meetings, estimates, summer walkthroughs$34.88
Performance quarter-zip (Sport-Tek, men's and ladies')Trailer mornings, shoulder season, over the polo$29.88
Crewneck sweatshirt (Bear Grips)Office winters, Friday casual that still reads managed$34.88

Two of each per person covers a work week. For the full polo standard including embroidery specs, see the construction polo guide.

Same Logo, Different Tier

The result reads as one company with structure, which is exactly what an owner's rep wants to see across the table.

The Superintendent Problem: Trailer to Boardroom in One Shirt

Superintendents live the hardest version of the split day, and the quarter-zip is the piece that solves it: presentable over a polo at the OAC meeting, warm enough for the 6 AM site walk, and it survives being worn with a hard hat and a radio clip. Supers who get two quarter-zips and two polos at promotion stop thinking about clothes entirely, which is the goal. Site-required PPE and rated vests layer over all of it, exactly as they do for the field crew.

Ordering for a Small Office

This is where no minimums genuinely matter: a company with one PM, one estimator, and one office manager needs nine pieces total, not a 24-piece screen-print run. Order each person's sizes individually from the company shop, shipped free to the office or their homes, in about a week. When the new PM starts in the spring, that is one more order, not a new print run.

Outfit the Management Tier

Frequently Asked Questions

Polo or button-down for construction management?

The embroidered polo is the industry standard for PMs and estimators. The catalog does not carry dress button-downs; companies that want them for executives buy those separately and use the branded program for everything else.

Should field crew and management wear different colors?

Different garments, same palette. Crew in brand-color tees, management in neutral polos with the logo in brand-color thread keeps one recognizable company with visible structure.

What does outfitting one PM cost?

Two polos, two quarter-zips, and a crewneck run about $164 at VIP base, shipped free. Most owners issue it at promotion.

Do women's cuts exist for the management pieces?

Yes: the ladies' quarter-zip and women's cotton pique polo are in the catalog at the same bases. Details in the women's lineup post.
