Club lacrosse age divisions run U9 through U17 in most national circuits, plus separate high school varsity programs. Apparel sizing changes across that range. Youth sizing fits U9 through U12 players in most cases. The transition to adult small or medium typically lands around U13 to U14. Older players, parents, and coaches stay in adult sizing across the catalog.

Youth-to-Adult Sizing Transition

The youth-to-adult transition is the most common sizing question parents ask about. The general rule:

The Bear Grips Airlume Cotton Athletic Tee comes in both youth and adult cuts at the same blanks. Same fabric, same look, scaled fit. Same applies for the Gildan Hoodie and Crewneck Sweatshirt.

Girls Club Lacrosse Sizing

For girls clubs and mixed-gender programs, women's cuts are stocked in select styles:

Younger girls (U9 through U13) usually fit better in standard youth unisex sizing.

Sizing for Parents, Grandparents, and Family

Parent and family sizing covers the broadest range in the catalog. Most adult styles stock through 3XL. The Hanes Premium Tall Tee adds length for taller parents. The Bear Grips Comfort Soft Hoodie, the Gildan Premium Cotton Pique Polo, and the Sport-Tek Performance Polo all stock through 2XL or 3XL.

Parents over 6'0" generally do best in tall-cut tees and standard cuts on hoodies (hoodie length is more forgiving than tee length for height).

Frequently Asked Questions

What age does club lacrosse start?

Most clubs offer programming starting at U9 (ages 7 to 8). Some clubs run pre-U9 instructional or "youth" tracks for ages 5 to 6. Competitive travel club lacrosse typically begins at U11 or U13 depending on the program.

Should a U13 player wear youth or adult sizing?

It depends on the player's growth stage. Players at the top of youth XL usually do better in adult small. A "between sizes" player should try both. Ordering both sizes and returning the one that does not fit is supported.

Are women's cuts available for older girls in club lacrosse?

Yes. Select styles stock women's sizing including the Bella+Canvas Women's Favorite Tee, Next Level women's tees, women's sweatshirts and hoodies, and the Sport-Tek Ladies' Quarter-Zip. Younger girls typically fit better in unisex youth.

What is the largest size available in the club lacrosse apparel catalog?

Adult 3XL in most popular styles. The Sport-Tek Ladies' Quarter-Zip stocks up to 4XL. Specific size availability varies by blank brand and style.
